Sunday 10.30am - New Parish Communion
At 10.30am each Sunday St Mary & St Nicholas Church holds a traditional sung Parish Communion service, based on Common Worship, Order One. For this service the Parish Choir leads the hymns and on special occasions an anthem or communion piece may also be sung.
The precise make-up of the choir varies from week to week, but all four parts are usually covered. We welcome new singers in all parts, at whatever level of ability and experience - from very little, to retired cathedral singers.
Members of the choir are active in many other parts of Church life too. Some lead prayers, read lessons, sing with the Contemporary Music Groups, or run stalls at fund-raising events. Some are members of Churchwatch greeting visitors to the church during the week, and they take part in planning traditional and contemporary services, and as members of the Parochial Church Council and the Friends of Leatherhead Parish Church.
If you would like to sing with the choir, please contact the Organist via the church office: 01372 362 544 or email: secretary (at) leatherheadparish .co .uk.

Sunday 6.30pm - Informal Worship
Details of our monthly sequence of contemporary services will soon be added here.
Sung, or Choral, Evensong - 6.30pm 4th Sunday of the month
On the fourth Sunday of each month, at 6.30pm, St Mary & St Nicholas Church holds a Sung or Choral Evensong.
This traditional service includes several hymns, the singing of the Psalm, Magnificat, and Nunc Dimittis, an anthem, a sermon, and parish prayers. Organ music plays as the congregation arrives for Evensong, and a major work is played at the end of the service as well.
Leatherhead's Evensong Choir includes members of the Parish Church Choir, augmented by regular and occasional visitors who come to us because they enjoy the traditional music of a Church of England Evensong. The form is similar to that followed in Anglican cathedrals and in the colleges of our great universities - where several of our visitors gained their experience of English church music.
The Evensong Choir is directed by Graham Davies, our Organist and Choirmaster, and is accompanied on the Allen digital organ, and on the restored 17th century Thomas Parker pipe organ, by Sub - Organist David Black.
