Radu Kis
Radu Kis is a young Romanian violinist who is proud to hand out, at only 22, a business card representing the foundation of a successful career. He is currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music in the violin group of the prestigious professor Remus Azoitei.
Coming from a musical family, Radu started his studies early in Cluj-Napoca, Romania with Bălaș Felicia. But the one who left the deepest mark on him was Sorin Gherbanoshi. The complex education he has received from a very young age, thanks to his father who was a concertmaster at the Romanian National Opera of Cluj-Napoca, and his mother who is a violinist at the same institution, made it possible for the 9-year-old Radu to make his debut as a soloist of the“Transylvania” Philharmonic Orchestra of Cluj.
Soon, his own musical achievements started to show, studying at Sigismund Toduta National Music High School. From 2009 to 2015, Radu Kis was continuously awarded for his Excellent Results by the Romanian Ministry of Education.
During his pre-university studies, he achieved orchestral experience with the Transylvanian Philharmonic Orchestra of Cluj-Napoca, with the Youth Orchestra of Romania, and the Paul Constantinescu Philharmonic Orchestra of Ploiesti.
The highest point of Radu’s competition activity was achieved in Hungary at the television broadcast competition“Virtuózok”, which brought into his record of achievements the first prize and the characterisation: “A man, a violin. These two coordinates are just enough to create a universe. And when the man is Radu Kis a universe is born where fascinating sonorities are found, coming off sound corridors and densities meant to subdue the public.”
Since 2018, Radu Kis has been attending university studies at London's Royal Academyof Music, where he has studied with major names such as Jack Liebeck, David Rowland, Felix Andrievsky, Maciej Rakowski, and Itzhak Rashkovsky.
Radu Kis's passion and studies of the violin and music will continue, the next achievement his graduation from the RAM, in 2023.
Also, under the professor’s guidance, Radu Kis is preparing intensely in order to participate in the famous "George Enescu” international competition that will take place in May 2022 in Bucharest, Romania.
