Seungyeon Lee
A delicate and emotional performer, Seungyeon Lee was born in South Korea.
Seungyeon studied on a full-time scholarship under the guidance of Professor Allan Neave and Matthew McAllister at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and graduated with honour of the 1st class.
Seungyeon has won many competitions, including Vienna International Youth Music Competition, and Seoul Mayor Music Award. She has won 1er Prix à l’unanimité/ winner of International Music Competition in Paris in 2023, First Prize at Fanny Mendelssohn International Competition in 2023 (Belgium), and Gold Prize Winner at World Classical Music Awards in 2023 (United Kingdom).
Seungyeon actively participates in ensemble and chamber music as well as solo, therefore she has performed in many festivals such as Ullapool Guitar Festival, Big Guitar Weekend, Leeds College of Music, as well as RCM Chamber Concerts, and lunchtime concerts in various venues throughout the UK.
Seungyeon was offered places for Master of Performance from Royal Academy of Music, Royal College of Music, and Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 2021. She is currently a masters student at the Royal College of Music with Professor Gary Ryan as a full-time scholarship holder.

Mark Dangerfield
Mark Dangerfield was born in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, England in 2001. Having played the guitar since the age of eight and taking part in his local guitar ensemble, Mark began playing in the classical style after being inspired by recordings of Julian Bream - however his playing retains stylistic influences of flamenco, jazz and rock, as well as folk music, from experience in playing steel-string fingerstyle guitar.
In 2021 Mark was selected for further study of the guitar with Professor Carlos Bonell at the Royal College of Music in London, along with a second study in composing with Professor Edwin Hillier.
Alongside his studies Mark enjoys a regular performing schedule in and outside of London, and is just as comfortable performing in cafes as he is in the concert hall.
Mark has appeared in numerous lunchtime concerts as well as in festivals - most recently the Amersham Festival of Music. As a composer Mark seeks to expand the undervalued classical guitar repertoire, inspired by the art of composers like Heitor Villa-Lobos and Leo Brouwer. Most recently, his work for guitar duo ‘Waterlily Suite’ was premiered in a guitar concert at the Royal College of Music.

There is no recording yet of Mark Dangerfield's Waterlily Suite. Here is another of his compositions, Café Waltz. And this is what Mark says of his intentions with the composition:
<< With Café Waltz I wanted to apply the impressionist style of Erik Satie’s music to a piece for solo classical guitar, and make the most of the guitar’s warmth, understated sound, and tonal variety.
The piece is underpinned by a distinct lilting rhythm, a nod to the left hand of the Gymnopédies, and resolves into a major section towards the end with a guitaristic descending passage down the fretboard which, along with my use of portamentos and ligados, aims to be reminiscent of the romantic guitar music of composers like Heitor Villa-Lobos or Francisco Tárrega.
I hope the title sets the scene well, as I think this piece would be perfect heard in a relaxed setting where life moves at an unhurried pace. >>
