Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach (1714-1788)
Flute Sonata in G major H 564, Wq 133 Hamburger Sonate Allegretto Rondo: Presto Sir Karl William Pamp Jenkins (b 1944) Ryers Down (2016) Composed for Emma Halnan, winner of The Arts Club – Sir Karl Jenkins Music Award 2016. Jenkins comments "for the first ten years of this century, I lived and composed on the Gower Peninsula, an area of sandy beaches and dramatic cliff scenery with coastal caves; the first area in the UK to be officially designated as one of outstanding natural beauty. Living in an old mill alongside the Bury Pill stream, I wrote from a stable block, enjoying a vista across Cheriton Valley and the river to Ryers Down. This work is a musical reflection of time spent there." Isaac Manuel Francisco Albéniz y Pascual (1860-1909) from Suite Española No 1 for Piano Op 47 (pre 1900) 1 Granada (harp solo) William Alwyn (1905-1985) Naiades, Fantasy Sonata for Flute and Harp (1971) |
