Duo Vastedt
Irma Vastakaite and Greta Åstedt are currently reading for their MMus (Violin) and BMus (Piano) in Performance respectively at London's Royal Academy of Music. Both having an array of ensemble music experiences, sampling different ensemble sizes ranging from duos to quartets, they found they have a strong chemistry and very similar taste in interpretation as well as a very academic and disciplined approach to rehearsing.
Both Irma and Greta are highly ambitious and passionate about what they focus on. Thus they constantly strive to discover new ways of exploring techniques and different perspectives when approaching a musical work, by professionally recording their progress on a weekly basis. They are also consulting Prof Jack Liebeck and Prof Michael Dussek to establish greater harmony as an ensemble.
Both Professors Jack Liebeck and Carole Presland have strongly recommended they take chamber music to the next level by expanding their ensemble experience.
The Duo is currently in the progress of recording all the Beethoven Sonatas for violin and piano. Irma and Greta have future concert engagements in London, Sweden, Luxembourg, Cyprus and Lithuania.

We were originally going to open with Beethoven's Sonata for Violin and Piano, No 3, from Opus 12,
played by Anne-Sofie Mutter and Lambert Orkis:
You may like to search for their recording of Sonata No 2. We haven't used it here because the recording finishes abruptly before the end of the work.

Schumann wrote the Fantasy Pieces Opus 73 for clarinet and piano, but directed that they could be played on violin or cello The recording here is actually played by Noboko Imai on the viola, with Albert Tiu at the piano:
We have also found a superb performance of the Fantasy Pieces on the original instrument.
In this 2009 recording the 12-year old Korean-born Han Kim is the clarinettist, accompanied by Woori Ko.
Han Kim is currently (2015) a student of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London.
