Buck Brass Quartet
Formed in 2013 by graduates from the Royal Academy of Music, Buck Brass is one of the leading young brass ensembles in the UK. The ensemble has pioneered a great deal of new repertoire for Brass Trio and Quartet, including transcriptions of works by Bach, Piazolla, Ibert and Beethoven as well as collaborating with young and established composers.
The ensemble has a busy performance and recording schedule having performed in prestigious venues including HM Treasury, London Guildhall, St James's Piccadilly, Lambeth Palace, 1901 Arts Club, Carlton Club, St George’s Hanover Square.
Members of the ensemble have considerable experience performing with major orchestras including the Philharmonia, London Philharmonic, Royal Opera House, London Sinfonietta and the BBC Concert Orchestra and alongside renowned conductors including Semyon Bychkov, Marin Alsop and Sir Mark Elder. Buck Brass has received coaching from many illustrious musicians such as Robert Hughes, Michael Dussek, Michael Thompson, Mark David, and Elgar Howarth. The ensemble are grateful for the continued support of the Worshipful Company of Musicians.
We are extremely grateful for Adam Stockbridge, trumpet, and Benji Hartnell-Booth, horn, for joining Frances Leith, horn, and Richard Buck, trombone, for today's concert. Timothy Ellis is currently on trial with the LSO.
