Recordings of the works in today's concert
Franz Peter Schubert (1797-1828)
Violin Sonata in G minor D408 (1816)
1 Allegro giusto Quick, precise
2 Andante Walking pace
3 Menuetto — Trio Minuet - Trio
4 Allegro moderato Moderately fast
Here is a chance to hear an historic recording by Isaac Stern and Alexander Zakin, full of vigour and passion. In the second recording, we hear the much younger "Ravani and Misha" - Ravani Loushy Kay, violin, and Michael Zartsekel, piano, with a more 'deliberate' performance. This was filmed in March 2021 at the Jerusalem Music Centre. Take your choice, or contrast and compare.

Women composers so rarely feature on concert programmes, an error we are delighted to put right. In this recording we hear Sini Simonen, violin and Tanja Zapolska, piano, members of the Esbjerg Ensemble:
