Francisco Correa
Praised by Gramophone for his eloquence and by Soundboard Magazine for his beautiful and expressive playing, Colombian guitarist Francisco Correa has captivated audiences with his virtuosic and nuanced performances. With a deep passion for both classical and Latin American repertoire, Francisco has established himself as a versatile and sought-after guitarist, performing extensively across the UK, Europe, and South America.
A prize winner in multiple guitar competitions, Francisco has performed concertos with orchestra on both sides of the Atlantic, including the Aranjuez Concerto with the Grammy-winning Bogota Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as the Latin-American premier of Steve Goss’s Guitar Concerto (2012) with Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Colombia. He has appeared on Colombian, British and French radio & television most recently on BBC Radio 3 In Tune.
His debut CD “Música de la Tierrita” received high acclaim in renowned guitar publications Guitare Classique, Soundboard and Classical Guitar Magazine.
A passionate advocate of new music, Francisco collaborates with renowned composers to create, record and premiere new works for guitar. In 2020 he won the Ibermúsicas funding award to commission, premiere and record the Suite Warmikuna by Ecuadorian composer Pedro Barreiro, and in 2022 after a successful crowdfunding campaign Francisco commissioned Stephen Goss to write for him the “Winterbourne Preludes” published by Doberman-YPPAN DO1473.
Francisco is currently signed with the record label “Deux-Elles” and will be imminently releasing an album with new guitar music by British composers Stephen Goss and Mark Houghton.
As an educator and leader Francisco is the conductor of the Bristol Classical Guitar Society Ensemble and the Classical Guitar Course leader for the International Guitar Foundation Guitar Festival and Summer School in Bath, UK.
Francisco plays a guitar by Philip Woodfield and is sponsored by Mundo Music Gear.

David Massey
David Massey began his studies with David Burden at his local music centre in Hertfordshire. In 2006 he was the strings finalist in the BBC Young Musician competition, performing Rodrigo’s Fantasia para un gentilhombre live on BBC Two from the Sage Gateshead, after which he went on to study at the Royal Academy of Music, where he graduated with distinction in 2010 and furthered his studies with an MMus in 2012.
He has also performed at venues such as Wigmore Hall, Purcell Room, King’s Place, St Martin in the Fields, and has frequently performed in chamber and orchestral contexts. These include Southbank Sinfonia and Chineke!, from Mozart and Respighi to John Adams and Peter Maxwell Davies including the UK premiere of Timothy Walker’s Guitar Concerto.
Long standing chamber music projects the Andrews Massey Duo (flute and guitar) and CarmenCo (mezzo-soprano/flute and two guitars) have led to a variety of successful recording projects and an Arts Council funded tour of "Creating Carmen", a concert play by Clare Norburn of The Telling.
David's solo performances have been described as “intense and intimate”, marked by a “remarkable energy and range of tone and dynamics”. His sound and communication of musical structure were praised by Julian Bream.
He has received tuition and masterclasses from David Russell, Fabio Zanon, John Mills and Timothy Walker, combining a love for both the traditional guitar repertoire as well as contemporary and new works, of which he has premiered several.
From performances in multi-storey carparks to art galleries, he is a musician willing to take risks and try new approaches. David's arrangements of Schubert, Mozart and Dvorak are played by guitarists and ensembles around the world. His first album of original songs will be released later this year.

WORLD PREMIERE PERFORMANCE
Mark Houghton (b1959)
Duocosmos suite
We can have no idea how a brand new piece of music is going to sound, and it certainly is not available online. Instead, we can listen to a previous work by Mark Houghton, who seems to split his time between Liverpool and Thailand.
Let us hear his 2021 composition for John Gavin, which John had asked to reflect the style of Brazilian guitarist, composer and teacher Dilermando Reis. This is
Waltz Opus 130 No 10 played by its composer Mark Houghton:
Charles Ives (1874-1954) (David solo)
arr David Massey (b1988)
from Piano Sonata No 2, Concord, Mass., 1840-1860 (1915)
III The Alcotts (Bronson & Louisa M Alcott)
As this sonata was originally written for piano, it will be interesting to hear how David treats it on guitar. As we hear Llewellyn Sanchez-Werner, performing at the Gilmore Piano Festival in Kalamazoo, Michigan, we can perhaps be thinking how parts of this beautiful music will work on guitar.
This was a Rising Stars Series concert in, in Kalamazoo, in May 2017:
Mario Gangi (1923-2010)
Suite Italiana (1989)
I Saltarello Allegro vivo
II Melodia Adagio
III Tarantella Allegro spigliato Bright & breezy
In this lively performance Silvia Masoero and Fabio Gramaglia are in the Colegio Artigianelli (Artisans' College) in Turin. Italy:
