El Puerto (Db major) [4:00]
Here comes a musician few of us will have had the opportunity to hear live! Alicia de Larrocha, performs at the ‘Festival Internacional de Música de Cadaqués’, in the Església de Santa Maria, Cadaqués, Spain on the 24th August 1984.
Cadaqués is a Catalonian coastal village of some 2600 people, although about ten times that number in the summer months. It has a list of associations with famous people including, Salvador Dali, Joan Miro, John Cage, René Magritte, Walt Disney, Picasso, the US author Michael Lederer (who wrote the novel Cadaques), Federico Garcia Lorca, André Breton, Man Ray, the actor James Mason, and the cellist Pablo Casals! That is just a selection of the famous names.
The recording continues with El Albaicín from Book Three. Albaicín is a district of Granada.
