Liza van der Peijl
Dutch contralto Liza Rebecca van der Peijl (born 1992) graduated in 2013 from the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. She continued her vocal studies in Siena (Italy) in the Masters Program of the Istituto di Alta Formazione R. Franci. Liza participated in the Christmas recital in the Duomo of Siena with orchestra and choir, conducted by Michele Manganelli. Here Liza performed the part for solo contralto in Vivaldi’s Gloria and sang a Vivaldi solo motet for contralto.
Liza also performed Pergolesi's Stabat Mater and various operatic scenes (Tancredi, L’Italiana in Algeri – Rossini) in various locations such as the Sala del Mappamondo during the Festa della Musica in Siena. Liza won prizes at the Concorso Nazionale di Esecuzione Musicale “Città di Riccione" and at the Premio Crescendo Competition in Florence. In March 2014 Liza was one of the finalists in the Giulio Neri Singing Competition. In September 2014 Liza started on the Postgraduate Program at the Royal Academy of Music under the tutelage of Julie Kennard and coached by Audrey Hyland. In the Vocal faculty Opera Scenes she was to be seen as Flowermaiden (Parsifal – Wagner), Cornelia (Giulio Cesare – Händel) Nurse (Jevgeni Onegin - Tchaikovsky) and Older Woman (Flight – Dove). Liza also participated in the Royal Academy Opera production of The Rake’s Progress (Stravinsky). Liza has had the pleasure of participating in masterclasses with Dennis O’Neill, Ira Siff, Eva Mei and Ines Salazar. She has also been coached by Carlo Morganti, Nicoletta Maggino, Claron McFadden and Michael Chance. Liza is very grateful for the full scholarship she is receiving for the Solti Accademia 2015 summer school, where she will be coached by many great singers including Barbara Frittoli and Leo Nucci. |
Roberta Terchi Nocentini
Italian pianist Roberta Terchi Nocentini studied in Italy where she gained a Master’s in piano solo and a Master’s degree with Distinction in répetiteur. She is currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music, where she is pursuing an MA in piano accompaniment with Michael Dussek and James Baillieu. She is an accompanist in the Baroque Coaching Class with Michael Chance.
Roberta has previously studied with Pietro Iadeluca, Luciano Bellini, and Marina Boesch (Conservatory of Music “A. Casella” in L’Aquila, Italy). She has honed her technique with a wide range of masterclasses including with Jeremy Silver and Mark Shanahan (National Opera Studio, London); Giuseppe Sabbatini, Sandro Verzari, Marco Boemi and Toeve Loenskov (Italy); Jeff Cohen and Brigitte Belleys (Cité de la Musique et de la Danse in Strasburg) and Robert Kettelsonn (Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Rome). Roberta has gained a wide range of teaching experience as both a vocal coach at the “A. Casella” Conservatory and in schools. As accompanist she has an extensive repertoire for voice and instruments. She has performed in over 100 concerts internationally (including Rome, Strasbourg, Bucharest and London). As répetiteur she worked on a broad range of operas including La Traviata, Carmen, The Little Sweep and Il Matrimonio Segreto. In 2009 Roberta founded the Italian “Suonincanto” association which aims to give young musicians the opportunity to perform in prestigious venues. So far over 30 young musicians have been helped through this organisation. Roberta has a MA in Italian Literature. |
