Hannah Parry
Hannah Parry is an organist, accompanist and choral conductor based in London. Hannah has a fantastically varied career which combines her professional musical activities with her passion for travel and writing.
Her music education began as a chorister at Norwich Cathedral and continued with Ann Elise Smoot at the Giles Junior Organ Conservatoire. She later studied organ performance at the Royal College of Music with David Graham, winning the Harold Darke Prize. After a Masters degree at Royal Holloway, University of London Hannah's freelance musical career has included church music posts at various London churches (most recently St Michael's Highgate) as well as accompaniment opportunities with choirs and choral societies.
Teaching and outreach work with adults and children have featured highly and this has led to close links with the Temple Church and the Union Chapel, Islington. Hannah also regularly performs as a soloist up and down the UK including St Paul's, Bradford and Norwich Cathedrals.

The Christ Church organ was built by Hill, Norman & Beard in 1970 with 16 stops, using some pipes from previous organs plus some neo-baroque sounds typical of the 1960's and '70's (Chimney Flute and Fifteenth on open-foot voicing, like the Royal Festival Hall organ). In 1995, HNB moved some loud stops from the Great to a new double case in the nave, 6 stops were added, and the tone was refined. In summer 2015 the nave organ was re-voiced to produce a more robust tone. |

At 22yrs old Jay Richardson may be the youngest composer we have heard from in this series. Martin Lücker is the Organist of St Katharinen Church, Frankfurt am Main and Organ Professor at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst, also in Frankfurt. The organ is the 1912 Stahlhuth-Orgel, in St Martin's Church, Dudelange (these recordings were made during the 2009 Dudelange Festival).
The Stahlhuth's, father and son, were based in Aachen and so while part of the German tradition, also worked across France, and built organs for England and Ireland. The result is an instrument that succeeds a wide range of musical styles:

Jon Laukvik studied organ with Michael Schneider in Cologne, and Marie-Claire Alain in Paris. To give you a flavour of Laukvik's work here are two examples, both with organ.
On the left you will find his Arabeske für Posaune und Orgel (trombone and organ), performed by Marius Hesby, trombone and Anders E Dahl, organ.

Regrettably there is a work missing as we move on to our Stanford finale.
From a disc entitled The Organs of Oxford Vol 1, we hear the 1986 Mander organ in Magdalen College Chapel, played by Magnus Williamson, who read music at Magdalen, graduating in 1990. He is now Professor of Early Music at the University of Newcastle:
