Philip Bishop, trumpet
Philip Bishop teaches brass both privately and for Surrey Arts. He started playing the trumpet aged 10 and has since learned to play french horn, trombone and most of the other brass instruments as well as double bass. He performs frequently on trumpet, double bass and occasionally french horn, playing throughout the South East of England in many orchestras, big bands, brass bands, wind ensembles and small jazz groups.
His recent solo performances include the Aratunian trumpet concerto. He also runs his own function band and composes and arranges for some of the ensembles he plays with. Philip has a PhD in physics and has studied music at both Guildhall School of Music & Drama and Goldsmith’s College.
Gina Eason, organ & piano
Gina Eason was awarded a Scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music, and after graduating was occupied with teaching and accompanying alongside bringing up her family.
For some years now she has composed small scale works for the Church Choir and has enthusiastically accompanied and played the organ in the area In her spare time she is interested in gardening, bird watching and water colour painting She is pleased to be accompanying Philip Bishop in his recital today.
