Samuel Lom is a Masters student at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama under the tutelage of Janice Chapman, having studied at the University of Warwick and Humboldt-Universitat zu Berlin.
This year Samuel performed Prince Yamadori (Madame Butterfly) and Father (Hansel and Gretel) at the Iford Arts Festival. Other opera credits include Figaro (Le Nozze di Figaro), Seneca (L’Incoronazione di Poppea), Morales/Zuniga (Carmen), Father (Hansel and Gretel) for Opera Warwick; Leporello (Don Giovanni) for Hampstead Garden Opera; Papageno (Die Zauberflöte) for Midland Opera; Conte (Le Nozze di Figaro) for the International Bel Canto Academy; Pluton (Hippolyte et Aricie) for Ensemble OrQuesta and Polyphemus (Acis and Galatea) for Ad Parnassum. Recent solo choral engagements include Mozart’s Coronation Mass and Requiem, Haydn’s Nelson Mass, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solenelle, Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms and Tippett’s A Child of Our Time. Samuel also regularly performs with the Philharmonia Chorus in various venues around Europe. Samuel will perform the baritone solo in Howard Goodall’s Eternal Light: A Requiem this November at a World War Centenary concert. |
Bass-baritone, Ashley Riches, sings Bright is the Ring of Words. Ashley was a BBC New Generation Artist in 2017, and he is accompanied here by Anna Tilbrook:
